Two way radio equipment Warranty.

1. WARRANTY:

All factory assembled Giga Technology products are covered by a twoo month warranty from the date of purchase on parts and workmanship. If you suspect your unit to be defective, please mail/ship/deliver it to our factory for testing on clients expens. If testing by Giga Technology technicians determines a fault in design, workmanship, or parts, the unit will be repaired or replaced at our discretion in as prompt a manner as possible at Giga Technology's expense.

1.1 Preventing transmitter damage when no antenna is connected.

Protecting the output stage of an RF transmitter is crucial for ensuring longevity and reliable performance. Here are some key procedures and measures to consider:

1.2 Proper Load Matching

• Impedance Matching: Ensure that the transmitter is properly matched to the antenna or load to prevent reflections that can damage the output stage.
• SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) Monitoring: Use an SWR meter to monitor and maintain a low SWR, ideally below 1.5:1.

1.2 Output Power Control

• Automatic Gain Control (AGC): Implement AGC circuits to prevent excessive power output.
• Power Limiting: Set power output limits within safe operating ranges of the transmitter.

1.3 Overload Protection

• Power Amplifier Protection: Use protection circuits that can detect and respond to over-current or over-voltage conditions.
• Thermal Protection: Install temperature sensors and thermal shutdown mechanisms to protect against overheating.

1.4 RF Surge Protection

• Lightning Arrestors: Install lightning arrestors at antenna feed points to protect against lightning strikes.
• Surge Suppressors: Use surge suppressors on power lines and signal lines to protect against electrical surges.

1.5 Filtering and Harmonics Control

• Low Pass Filters: Use low pass filters to suppress harmonics and prevent unwanted frequencies from being transmitted.
• Band-Pass Filters: Employ band-pass filters to allow only the desired frequency range to pass through.

1.6 VSWR Protection

• VSWR Protection Circuits: Integrate VSWR protection circuits that can automatically reduce power or shut down the transmitter when high SWR is detected.

1.7 Transient Protection

• ESD Protection: Implement electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection on input/output lines.
• Transient Voltage Suppressors: Use transient voltage suppressors to protect against voltage spikes.

1.8 Cooling and Ventilation

• Heat Sinks and Fans: Ensure adequate cooling with heat sinks, fans, and proper ventilation to dissipate heat.
• Environmental Control: Maintain the transmitter in a controlled environment to prevent overheating.

1.9 Quality Components

• Use High-Quality Components: Ensure all components, especially those in the output stage, are rated for the required power levels and have high reliability.

1.10 Regular Maintenance and Monitoring

• Routine Checks: Regularly inspect and maintain the transmitter and its components.
• Monitoring Systems: Implement continuous monitoring systems to detect and alert on any abnormalities.

By implementing these procedures, you can significantly reduce the risk of damaging the output stage of an RF transmitter.

2. FACTORY REPAIR OF PRODUCTS:

Factory repair is available for products no longer covered by the warranty at a repair cost of R360.00 per hour plus a basic repair fee of R500.00 To qualify for Giga Technology factory repair, units MUST:

1. NOT be modified in any manner.

2. BE returned in fully-assembled form.

3. BE accompanied by the basic repair fee. No repair will be undertaken until we have received the basic repair fee of R500.00, or authorization to charge it to your credit card account.

3. RETURNING PRODUCTS:

Whether returning a product under warranty or for non-warranty repair, include:

• Description of the problem.
• Clients return address. DO NOT send a separate letter. Include all correspondence with the unit.
• DO NOT include your own hardware such as non-Giga Techology cabinets, knobs, cables, external battery packs and the like.

Giga Technology, reserves the right to refuse repair on ANY item in which we find excessive problems or damage due to improper customer trouble-shooting or repair methods. To assist customers in such situations, Giga Technology, reserves the right to solve their needs on a case-by-case basis.

4. REFUNDS:

You are given  (20) days to examine our products. If you are not satisfied, you may return your unit with all the parts and instructions and proof of purchase to the factory for a full refund. The return package should be packed securely. Insurance is recommended. Please do not cause needless delays; read all information carefully.
